| - The Regal at Sunset Station used to be one of the worst theaters in town and now it's one of the best! It's been totally renovated with fresh new carpet, a new coat of paint, snazzy digital projectors and amazingly comfortable recliner seating! The best-kept moviegoing secret in Vegas is getting out so if you want to see a movie on the weekend (including matinees), you'll be faced with sold out shows unless you go super early.
The staff here is nice too, always willing to help out with any problems -- but their problem solving satisfaction rate with me is a little low. We go to the movies here a lot and have encountered an out of focus projection issue (they tried but never could fix it, leading us to have to watch all of "The Revenant" with a soft focus), rude talkers (management sent an employee in to stand around and the talkers finally shut up but they didn't kick them out; I would've like to see them thrown out), and people sitting in our assigned seats (they just moved OUR seats instead of making THEM move). Customer service on the theater end isn't the greatest but at least they're friendly and always smiling.
SERIOUS MOVIE LOVERS BEWARE: while this theater claims to have an IMAX screen, it is not true IMAX. It's fake IMAX (or what us film lovers like to call "LieMAX.") Google it for yourself.
One of the highlights of this theater is their great concession stand. They have plenty of employees so you rarely have to wait to buy snacks and fresh popcorn. Most theaters could learn a lesson from the concessions manager here. Popcorn is constantly being popped in small batches, making it worth the $7 price tag. Recently they've added an Enomatic machine so you can buy wines by the glass. Nice!
The big leather recliners make for the most comfy way to watch a movie, but be warned that it also encourages talkers to talk even more. People treat the auditorium more and more like their living room, so try to go during off hours. Some idiots will bring blankets to the movie and wear their pajamas. OMG, if you are doing this please STOP!
I hate the reserved seating here because people will always move out of their reserved seats and either into your reserved seat or into the handicapped seats (which are the best seats in the house, no doubt). This really annoys me. If your customers don't like the reserved seating system -- and the fact that most everyone moves OUT of their reserved seats and into different seats once they get in the theater -- maybe you should consider getting rid of that. I'd give this place 5 stars if they'd kill the reserved seating.
