  • On a rare outing to the Danforth (I really should end up here more often..), I consulted Yelp for advice on where to eat. The Auld Spot ultimately won out for our dinner date. Loved the decor of this place - the lights across the ceiling along the tree branches made it look just lovely inside. It definitely comes across as a more upscale pub, which I would classify it as. The menu was fairly seafood heavy although there were items for non-fish people such as myself. I ultimately chose the pulled lamb sandwich, which I enjoyed but didn't think it was amazing. I found it a bit messy and overloaded - slopping it around kinda detracted from the experience. My friend had the fish and chips, which she enjoyed. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner here and would come back if I was in the neighbourhood and looking for a pub. The staff were super friendly and always checking in on us. And the food was pretty good when it comes right down to it - messiness aside.
