This show is well worth seeing when in Las Vegas. I agree with what is said in all of the reviews.
I'm not, however a big fan of Cirque du Soleil or a super fan of Michael Jackson so coming to Michael Jackson One was a bit of hard sell. The Cirque shows do differ a lot in tone so it's not always so Black or White in deciding whether to see a Cirque du Soleil show. But i'm happy I did agree to see Michael Jackson One. If you want to see a great show in Las Vegas This is It.
It was definitely a Thriller. I thoroughly loved the show. I think it part because there wasn't a lot of the acrobatics which seem to be everywhere nowadays. Nor was it a strange collection of oddities like contortionists or novelty acts. The music of course is great but the show itself is amazing. Having been to other Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas I've not only been bored but almost eager for the show to end. I couldn't wait to Beat It out of the theater. This was not the case at all with Michael Jackson One. The show kept my interest and just kept getting better and better. The music, the sets, the dancers (I amazed there's not Blood on the Dancefloor!) and some Off The Wall "special effects" all make for a fantastic experience. I was disappointed when it was over. They stopped before I got enough!
I can only imagine if you are a fan of MJ and or Cirque du Soleil how much you would enjoy the show all the more. If you want to stand up and cheer afterwards You are Not Alone! It's obviously a crowd pleaser. It's both a celebration and tribute to Michael Jackson and one is reminded bittersweetly the Price of Fame. Either way you leave the theater thoroughly entertained.
