| - WOW!!! This is just the craziest place I've been into for a long, long time. You seriously need a fat checkbook or wallet, good walking shoes and time, time, time.
This "grocery store" (and I use that term ultra loosely) is an uber grocery store fit for a king and something I was surprised to find on the corner of this out-of-the-way huge azz parking lot.
It has everything and I mean everything. I don't know what a Wegman's is but I'm from San Diego and this event is a mixture of a Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Super Wal-Mart (in size) and many small upscale restaurants.
I walked in and then walked out $100 lighter in just under 30 min. Had I been there by myself, I would've been there for the better part of a day...easily. So below is what you will find inside and good luck to you....
~Pharmacy w/both organic, holistic and traditional meds
~A million regular grocery items alongside thousands of organic, natural and artisan foods.
~An extensive fancy cheese and deli meat section
~An extensive bakery w/handmade breads, cakes, donuts, breads etc.
~A really fancy and upscale meat counter...with all sorts of fowl, red meat, cured meats etc.
~ A huge seafood counter w/ all sorts of fancy friends from the sea.
~ A hydroponic garden!!! (Veggies growning in water under fancy lights..oh, what the "med" pot growers in Cali woud pay to have this system in their grasp)...are you kidding me?
~ A HUGE veggie section w/ all types of organic and non-organic produce w/a corner dedicated to a dozen or more varieties of mushrooms
~A chocolate candy shop AND a gelato station
~An Indian food station complete w/fresh Naan bread
~A fresh Sushi section where there was a real, live Japanese sushi chef making rolls. I picked up a pkg of baby octopus salad it rocked!
~A fresh oven baked pizza station
~ A fresh regular deli and dinner entree station
~ A fresh crepeire (sp?) station
~Coffee stand
~Flowers and plants and the requisite photo and battery counter
~A bank of course
~ I am QUITE sure I forget lots of other places....but the best part is...
~A place to drop off the kids while you shop!!! Are you kidding me?
And it's two story and it looks like there are tables and chairs where you can chill upstairs and on the weekend, there's a free band playing!!
I am very envious of you lucky Pittsburgh folks...there is nothing even remotely like this in San Diego...cheers!
