As a tourist, I didn't have a car, and we wanted to visit the touristy stuff that Pittsburgh had to offer. Fortunately we found out on our 2nd day that the Transit that runs in the downtown area was free of charge, and $2.50 if you go outside by 1 zone.
We were able to go to the Allegheny Station to visit Heinz Field and the Carnegie Science Center, to Gateway to get a bite at the famous Primanti Bros, and to our stop at Steel Plaza where our hotel was located near the Consol Energy Center.
Overall, it worked for what we needed, and we didn't have to hire a bunch of taxi's or Ubers to get around.
