  • I treat people fairly. I pay them our agreed upon price and usually add something extra to show my appreciation. I've been in sales and business for over 20 years and have never dealt with any person as combative as condescending as James Preston of Preston Industries (480) 430-7062. After an initial meeting with one of his contractors, who admittedly is a very nice and kind man, in being diligent we texted a checklist to make sure the contractor came fully prepared. He no showed. After my parter called the "company" for clarification, she was berated for not having acquired a written estimate. He literally blamed her for his employees failure to follow protocol. Being pressed for time, I called, was met with the same disdain from the onset despite being affable. The employee came out, and the work was a disaster. After another call, I was charged with being at fault and argumentative and insulting because I'd requested a separate employee who was more skilled. I was also told I didn't see what I saw, but that I should have noticed it the night before. Actual message. Mazyar, this is Brian. We know you did your best yesterday. We are having all the faucets redone but still acknowledge you did install appliances for us. For that, we will pay you directly but will not deal with James and his combativeness any further. We will also reimburse you for the usable supplies you purchased & return to you or the store, the unused unusable ones. Do you think $120 for appliances is fair? Unreal. Avoid at ALL costs. There's a reason this guy isn't on Yelp. You've been warned. An actual message: James, this is Brian. I'm both texting you & emailing you because despite both mine & my Sig/O's best efforts to have a civil discourse, we seem unable to avoid escalating to argument. We have placed a stop payment on the $450 check paid you for poor work done yesterday. Two faucets leak, one is wobbly, there are excess/missing parts in the tub. We touched the garbage disposal and it fell off. We will either pay when the work is done properly by someone who knows what they're doing or we can go our separate ways as we are already paying extra to repair your worker's mistakes. The men pictured here are fixing the tub work. Your call. Also, they were supposed to build a closet. After agreeing, the the says he won't carpet it, won't paint, doubt round corners because he doesn't know how. James insisted the guy didn't know what he was talking about bc he did k ow how. Apparently he knows better than the worker his capabilities.
