  • I am writing this review after eating at Mon Ami Gami to celebrate my birthday We ate dinner at Mon Ami Gabi on Christmas Eve. We had a wonderful dinner, with an amazing view. When we paid for our dinner, the waitress suggested we spend $30 more dollars and we would receive gift cards. We ended up with three $25 gift cards and a $100 gift card. We were anxious to return to celebrate my birthday. When we were to pay the bill, the waiter told us that there was only $23 left on the $100 gift card. We knew that we had not used the card. We ask to see the manager. The manager Joe H came out. Went to check "his" records. He returned to say, "My records indicate you spent $73+ on December 24th". My brother in law kept explaining, no we had not, however Joe kept reiterating that yes indeed we had used that portion. Joe was speaking fast and a speck louder, my brother law then started to speak louder, Joe steps back and said "you are becoming aggressive, I'm done". I'm getting security". A very nice gentleman, Michele, came in. I don't know if he was security, but he surely knew that there wasn't a fight going to happen. I step over between the two of them, (I am 73 years old woman) and said "Joe my brother in law is trying to explain that this is not right. You see it from your standpoint. We know we did not use the Card. There has to be an error in your system. My brother in law is not being aggressive, just trying to make you understand". We are people that can certainly pay this bill. It's the principle. At that point my sister (79 years old)started to have severe angina. I gave her nitro. My husband and brother in law paid the entire bill. We then got security to get us a wheel chair for my sister. While we waited, Darius, very nice security guard (The guard assessed my sister did not require Medics. I told him that I was a critical care nurse).chatted with us, he and Todd, the guard that wheeled my sister to car, can attest to the fact no one in our group was the least bit aggressive. We just wanted Mon Ami Gabi to do the fair thing, and honor our $100 gift card. Really, wouldn't any person want the fair resolve to this? Joe H on the other had, obviously does not care about customer satisfaction. That $73+ was far more important to him. This restaurants Corporation, trained him. Is this Corporation that desperate for that little bit of money? I don't think so. Joe wanted to be right at all cost. Joe won! last night. If I were going to recommend a restaurant to our visiting friends, (we are locals) I would make sure that they did not eat at any of this corporations restaurants. The customer isn't first or right. PS. We have all the bills. December's and last nights. We reviewed charges to our credit cards. We did not use the $73.
