| - Went here for a meetup group event. First off, I would like to say, if I was grading the cornbread, the mac and cheese and the mashed potato sides, I would give them a resounding five stars. The service, I would give five stars as well. It's the BBQ that I would give more like a two or three stars, hence, the three stars since that's probably what the place is known for.
There was probably about 20 of us. We had two servers, which they were organized and kept things moving along. Drinks came out in a timely fashion as well as the warm cornbread and butter, which I could have just made a meal from that!
I love pork ribs, as you can probably tell from my prior BBQ reviews. We could either order a half or a full. I figured, since I was filling up on the cornbread anyway, I could take most of it home and ordered the full rack. I asked which was leaner, which our server stated it was the baby back. I don't want all that pork fat.
The ribs were, mehhhhh, okay. A bit on the dry side; yes, falling off the bone, but it just lacked that bbq, smoky flavor that I am used to. The sauce wasn't all that tantalizing either.
Now, the mac and cheese and the mashed taters, that was another thing. I don't know what kind of cheese it is, but it was creamy and plenty of cheese. The mashed taters had the skin, which I like, and was quite tasty as well.
I ordered a manhattan, which was good. It's just that I think someone drank half of it before I got it since the glass was partially filled. I was wondering what happened to the rest of it.
Would I return? I would for everything except the Q. I didn't care for the dryness of the meat and the blandness of the flavoring.
