  • I dined at vivace two days ago. I had a large party of 14 for a surprise birthday brunch for my boyfriend. One of my guests reviewed the restaurant on Facebook and described a mishap they had with seating before we arrived. I have included vivace's response to his review as well as my own person experience.... (unbelievable at how the restaurant responded to a poor review. Is this the owner's Facebook? Is this the manager's Facebook?) "I was the one that made the reservation with vivace. I was told on the phone that unless this was a surprise celebration the entire party must be present to be seated. I gave my credit card info because I was told that for every guest that didn't show up, I would be charged $10. Okay fine. I wanted to come there. The day before the brunch I contacted vivace to update my head count and changed it to a higher amount. I reiterated on the phone that this was indeed a surprise brunch. I told the hostess my guests would be arriving around 2 and I would be arriving with the birthday boy around 2:20. She said that was fine and we would be accommodated. I did not realize the trouble that my guests went through trying to be seated until after I had arrived. This is quite embarrassing for me since I was the one inviting the guests. Our waitress Heather was so nice and very apologetic for the mishap. She gave us great service and was well compensated. All of the attending guests plus ourselves are in the service industry. As my guests left one by one, four of us remained. The endless mimosas and bloody Mary's ended at 3:45 and by this time it was 4:00. I asked my waitress if we could move to the bar downstairs so she could finish cleaning and end her shift... The manager wearing the football jersey cut her off and rudely input that they were closed and we would have to leave. The waitress apologized for his grouchiness after he walked off. I brushed it off, after all no one died. As we went downstairs and said our goodbyes near the elevators. The bartenders and managers could be seen rolling their eyes at the remaining 5 guests seated in the bar area. Wow. How obvious. Disappointed at the response on my guest's review. How embarrassing. Guess they are doing so good they can afford to lose 14 customers. "
