| - I see all the other 1-star reviews on here, and I don't mean to take away anything from them. My experience was different, and I'm just here to say it because I think it's worth considering. It may have been because it was a small issue, but we didn't have a horrible experience.
A customer of Legacy backed into our car when my wife was parked in the parking lot at her doctor's office. We filed the claim with them and then waited too long for an adjuster to come out. This is the main issue we had. It was, I think, 9 days before the car got looked at.
From there it was smooth. We got a generous appraisal that covered all of the damage, and $27 per day for a rental for 4 days. Chris, assigned to our claim, was courteous and easy to work with once we got him on the phone (which did take a few tries).
All in all, it wasn't horrible. I wouldn't choose them as my insurance, but that's because I like a really deluxe plan (broken windshield coverage, roadside assistance, comprehensive coverage with a low deductible, etc). But if I was back in college and broke still, I would consider Legacy with Freeway and the General as a low-cost option.
