My daughter is a junior at GCU. I've dealt with Camelback Self Storage a total of four times now. The customer service has always been a little lacking. They are so slow it drives me crazy. There is absolutely no sense of urgency whatsoever. My daughter has moved out early and in early every year so thank God we haven't been there when everyone else is trying to move in and out. The beginning of school year last year we rented a U Haul truck from them and other than the slow service everything was okay. At the end of the year they did not have rentals there, I had to go to another place to pick up the U Haul and that was another long wait. So now back to this year's move in last week. I called to see if they had moving trucks there, they had Budget, but said I needed to reserve my truck online. I reserved the truck for Monday morning (the 3rd), my estimate was $20 with tax. I got there exactly at 8am. I was the first customer there, we received the truck at 8:45. Forty-five minutes to wait. They seem nice enough, but when you're trying to hurry and get things done early in the morning and it's 112 degrees outside, they could move it a long a little quicker. The truck was in between 3/4 and a full tank. I turned it back in three hours later with the exact amount of gas that was given to me. There was $110 charge to my account. I waited all week thinking it was a deposit hold. I called today, they charged me for gas. I'm so mad. I now have to call back in a hour so they can look up the records. I've put up with the slowness because it's so convenient and so close to GCU, but I'm not sure that it's worth it at this point. We'll see how this is handled.
