| - My wife and I both drive Kias, and while we didn't purchase them through #1 Cochran, we have always had them serviced there. I am a pretty decent mechanic and I am very wary of "dealer gouging" and attempts to upsell or push you into things you don't need. I take that, and really high prices, as part of the dealer experience. But I have to say, that has not been the case at Cochran Kia in Robinson.
If the maintenance schedule recommends it, they let you know, but they don't put pressure on you or pull any stunts to scare you into getting the work done. All of the work that we have had done was easy to schedule, was done in the timeframe they promised, and was done well. I have researched the price on everything we have done and Cochran has always been spot on with what other people nationwide are paying for the same service. (have to love message boards and forums!) As a DIY mechanic, I alway consider if it is cheaper to do the work myself, but let's face it, some jobs are best left to the dealer! When I have them do the work, I always feel confident that they did a great job at a fair price and their expertise was worth paying for.
I had some warranty repairs done there as well, and Cochran was great about dealing with Kia and getting them to honor the warranty. Saved me a lot of money. They also arranged to get me to work or get me a rental car with no hassles. Their system for making appointments and calling with estimates and letting you know when the car is ready is also really good, you are always in the loop. Good communications and friendly, helpful people.
One tip: They always leave a coupon for your next service visit. Stick it in the glovebox and don't forget about it, it can really shave off a few bucks!
