  • To be honest, I would give this place more of a 3.5 for food quality, but I'll round up to 4 since we had great service and the decor is pretty cool. Plus, convenient location with ample parking in the Hilldale area! The sushi was good...for Madison standards. I don't think thats saying much though, unfortunately. Muramoto's main competitor (Red on Washington) blows it out of the water. I still enjoyed my dinner at Muramoto, but certainly felt a lack of 'wow that was amazing' dishes and more of a 'that was okay' feeling when I left. Good place for an intimate dinner or with a group (we got a cool semi-private room for a party of 10). I really like the ambience of the restaurant but felt like the food didn't do the reviews justice.
