  • Serano at Pape, not far from Pape and Danforth is offering variety of Greek and Eastern European pastries, fresh baked breads and carries in its little shop Greek specialities. This isa famous place to get your cakes and pastry if you happen to love in the neighbourhood. Everything looks first-class and the variety is pretty wild, but if you take a closer look, then 90% of the cakes are so called sponge cakes, which in my opinion is not exactly the most filling and creamiest you can find. After few visits we were done, as there was not much to try. We loved the Greek pastry and some bite-size cakes, but that's all. If you love the sponge-cakes, then Serano is your heaven. Honestly. P.s. From time to time they give away freebies, so if your visit happens on a day when they do that, you can get an idea what the cakes are about, without even buying something.
