  • After having some rather large issues with a previous auto insurance company I did some research on-line for a better fit and came across Progressive. The first thing that caught my attention was the rates. When the commercial tells you that they can save you some money they weren't kidding! For nearly the exact same price as my last auto insurance premium I got 50% MORE coverage and was able to upgrade from limited tort to full tort! Sure save money...but what else can they do you may ask. A couple of years ago I was stopped at a toll booth and the driver in front of me got impatient, threw his large SUV into reverse and almost threw my poor little compact car into the car stopped behind ME. Being my first accident as an adult (I had one as a teen), I didn't know entirely what to do, but got the license plate number, name/phone number of the driver, and name of his insurance company. He told me he'd pay for everything then drove off. I never heard from him again or had any of my numerous messages returned (both on his cell phone with a full in-box, on his work phone, or his secretary). A Progressive agent helped me through EVERYTHING! The agent also called the owner of the SUV numerous times and kept me informed of each of his attempts and his progress. He got my car in the shop and had the other driver's insurance company pay for a rental car that I needed for work and college to get me around that week. I was terrified my rates would increase, but the agent explained to me that my bill would not change. While my car was in the shop I was able to check on-line and see the work in progress and also check the status of my claim. This difficult situation was made much simpler whit the help of the Progressive agent. Even if the car accident had been deemed as my fault my insurance rates would not have increased due to "accident forgiveness", just one perk of having an insurance policy through Progressive. I also decided to get the roadside assistance option placed on my policy. For the cost of having a toe truck help me get my keys out of my locked vehicle I have towing, flat tire service, etc for one year. Believe me, I am a bit of a scatter brain and have needed the service on more than one occasion. I have been with Progressive for nearly 4 years now and won't look back.
