  • UPDATE!!!! within 24 hours my toe became red, throbbing and swollen. I was put on antibiotics by my doctor as he said it was an acute (quick onset) bacterial infection and no doubt from this salon's treatment! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! I will be reporting them! This used to be my go-to quick pedicure salon for years. Close to me, and well priced. The last few times it seemed they didn't have a very large selection of colors (and I don't have problems normally, except for difficulty deciding...here I am having trouble finding one I even like much). I go to similar salons in CA and also CO with great results, so I do have comparisons to make. I also have been to the one up at Desert Hills, and they do an awesome job for a similar price, but is quite a drive. My main issue today and why I won't be going back EVER is that they apparently put people on the floor who aren't fully trained. The water for my pedicure was blazing hot and had to be adjusted four times until it was bearable. When I heard one of the other nail techs telling mine to use a mechanical buffer on my nail, the tech proceeded to just manually buff the top of my nail, but didn't know what they were doing and kept repeatedly hitting my skin with the abrasive tool. The cuticle of this nail was also cut WAY too short, and the filing of all of my nails actually hurt as the person was rubbing the skin below, as well as the nail. After enduring a very uncomfortable prepping, I figured "thank goodness, time for a massage". WORST MASSAGE EVER, clearly NOT trained at all in massage, and lasted 1/3 of the time normally given at this type of salon. Polish application was the only part that was acceptable. I had the pedicure today and my toe where the skin was cut too short and rubbed raw by the buffing is throbbing and red. I was unable to wear tennis shoes for a walk tonight due to the pain. I took a photo to document it just in case it gets infected. I've never bothered asking for anyone in particular here, as they have all done a very good job in the past. I can't believe I actually paid for what I had done today. I will not be back, and it is irresponsible to put people on the floor that are untrained. As an aside, my tray table that comes down on the side was disgustingly dirty. This has been my only bad experience here, but it was bad enough that I will be making the drive to Desert Hils from now on.
