| - I come from an area west of Chicago where serviced carwashes are numerous & very easy to find. I moved to Madison about 10 years ago, and it's frustrating that there are not more of them here. I usually just go to the gas station carwashes, which aren't that great and overpriced in my opinion. Today is the first day in 2 weeks where it's warm enough outside to get a car washed, so I just drove there to get the salt cleaned off of my car that's been on there since driving to Illinois on Christmas Eve during a snowstorm (in other words, my car is absolutely covered in salt). I figure everyone's going to get their car washed today, so I'm going to wait wherever I go, and I'd rather have the interior vacuumed and wipe down, and the exterior dried, which you don't get at a gas station car wash. I arrived at this location of Mister Carwash just before 1 PM, and they have a big sign out that says "sorry we're closed". This is insane, because not only are they supposed to be open until 5 today, but I can see employees closing the garage doors at that moment. Needless to say, I didn't get to try it for a first time, and now there won't be a first time. If you advertise that you're open, you should be open, especially on a day when a larger number of people than usual is going to be needing/using the service your business provides. I miss Octopus Carwash, but this is not a good alternative. Find someplace else to go, and please let me know if you find one you recommend!
