  • I was intrigued by not only the tea/high tea aspect of the shop, but also the postcard/decorating aspect as well. Seeing as how it's fairly new, I decided to give it a try one Sunday after church. The place was still empty when I arrived as I was the first customer. This gave me some time to peruse the menu and take photos of the interior as I pleased - the workers/owners helping me were incredibly friendly as they explained how the postcard section of their shop worked. The interior of the shop is fairly big - it seats around 20-30 customers with a very modern touch to the furniture and décor. Dark wooden tables and chairs line the major seating area, but there's also a big communal wooden table for people to work on postcards/chat with friends, etc. The twinkling circular orbs hanging from the ceiling and the simple stickers on the wall all add to the simplicity of LaPostté as well. So I came mainly because I was intrigued by the postcards. I've done it before in Taiwan where you pay for a postcard and postage stamp, fill out your greeting (addressed to whomever you wish to mail it to), and on one section of the wall, there are wooden boxes to correlate to each day in each month. Placing a postcard in the particular day of your choice designates when the postcard will be sent out by the staff at the store. They do state that the longer they hold postcards for you, the more you have to pay - but I'm not sure if that's in effect right now. LaPostté also has a wall filled with different types of postcards (seems like most are from Asia) that you can purchase for $2 each. You can also purchase sticker sheets, decorations, etc. for $2 a piece as well. I don't know if you're able to bring in your own postcard to send out, but I picked from the plethora of choices and used their stationery table to decorate my postcard. They have gel pens, pens, stamps, scratch paper, etc. so if you're a fan of writing/art - you'll have a blast! And since I was already here, I ordered a drink as well. I skipped the high tea and tried the Lapostté milk green tea. The Yelp check-in allows for a free topping, so I tried the crystal boba. I forget that crystal boba's texture is way different from regular boba, so I was pretty disappointed that the boba was not chewy. I liked the to-go cups of the shop, but I got my drink served in a citrus-like jar that wasn't too aesthetically pleasing (in my opinion) since I was decorating my postcard in the shop. The drink (at $4.75) was quite pricey and had more milk flavor than I would have liked. It also was more fragrant than most other milk green teas that I have had. I don't think I'd order this drink again. As for their high-tea and dessert items - they all sound quite promising (but slightly pricey). Combo for 1 person is $24.99 while a combo for 2 people is $43.99. Their toppings are $0.79 each, which is slightly pricier than most places. They do have lots of new drinks rolling out, which I think is a plus. tl;dr - I like LaPostté's "postcard" service and high-tea aspect of the restaurant, but the milk green tea wasn't anything great. If I come back, I probably will try a fruitier tea instead.
