I had car troubles while on a road trip that took me through Las Vegas. I was worried about finding a good shop to work on my Volvo 240 last minute, but Bright Independent Volvo ended up being one of the best independent Volvo shops I've been to.
Marshall waited for me to arrive a few minutes after closing on a Friday so he could look at my car right away -- after giving the car a through look over (for free) he swapped out my old, non OEM fuel sensor relay with a used OEM one for free. He did this because it was late Friday and he wouldn't be able to order a new one in time for me to continue my trip as planned, but he showed me how to put it in and take it out just in case down the road I wanted to purchase a new one.
Over the weekend the car had problems again, so I called Bright Independent Volvo and they saw me first thing Monday. They spent most of Monday working on my car figuring out what the mystery problem was. They weren't able to pin it down exactly but thought it was still a fault in the fuel sensor relay. They ordered a new OEM fuel sensor relay and put it in. They only charged me for the part. No labor charges, even though they spent several hours on it, because they didn't think it'd be fair to charge labor when they weren't confident they completely fixed the problem. This is the nicest thing a mechanic has ever done for me. The car hasn't had the same issue arise since I stopped at Bright Independent Volvo. I was able to continue my road trip (another 7,000 miles+) without further problems and am very thankful to Marshall and company. I just wish this Volvo shop was located where I live so it could be my regular go-to spot.
