| - This was a great ER experience. I definitely recommend going here.
Going to the ER is never fun, but my visit to Arizona General Hospital went quite well, if not quite perfect. I had sliced off part of my fingernail and the bed underneath. The Urgent Care said we needed to go to the ER, and we had seen this one the previous week, so we thought we would try it out. The front desk staff was very nice, and we were ushered back within 10 minutes. The nurse whom took us back was not friendly and she made a mistake when trying to unwrap my finger since the paper towel had stuck to the nailbed and it was rather painful when she removed it. She switched off with a different nurse, Judy, whom was great though. The doctor came in within 5-10 minutes and went over what he would need to do. The only issue after this was that the lidocaine wasn't numbing my finger correctly, so it took a while before they were able to cauterize. Still though I felt that the evening went about as well as it could. The facility is new, so there are still a few growing pains with knowing exactly where certain supplies are, etc. but I am sure that these will be ironed out soon.
One note I would make - if you think someone is having a stroke or a heart attack, you will probably want to take them to a full hospital. While AGER is equipped to transfer higher acuity patients out, seconds count in these situations, and as far as I could tell they do not have any sort of neurological imaging or a cath lab.
I would not hesitate to go back here if I or a loved one needed to go to the ER. Overall it is MUCH faster than any other ER experience I have ever had.
