| - SO after reading a couple of reviews, I thought very carefully on what I would type as a reviewer. I have to say, I see where everyone is coming from...
You have to keep in mind, this is a NYC/LA/VEGAS club-scene so as a woman you better BRING IT! And as a black woman, bring it HARDER! I can see how it has a snobby reputation because I came with my 2 best friends(who are Caucasian if you must know) and it definitely seemed like getting into club sponsored by Tim Gunn. TIP: look and feel important/sexy with a smile. So we waited around(about 10-15mins.-maybe) when a lady with 3 guys asked us to be in her group because of the ratio thing (it's true). We obliged and the "gate keepers" asked me about our group size. So, they let us in.
Once inside, it is ON with velvet damask, cut crystal and mood lighting. It reminds me of Opera from Atlanta but with a more upscale vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on the dance floor and on the patio. BUT, at some point, it got sketchy...questionable sketchy. Like, why would someone come to 'Club Tim Gunn' in a soiled undershirt and stained jeans (NOT a look on purpose-type)?
I'm not sure how long this will last but I'm glad I got to experience it when it will remain a great memory in my head.
SO yes- you do have to look GOOD/sexy/important
Yes- if you're a guy, bring some spectacular eye-candy. Seriously.
Yes- the place is diverse, but I know I was 1 in 10 black girls there(and even less for the brothers).
Yes- Once in, you WILL have a great time! Make it work!
