Needed a particular cheese for a recipe. It occurred to me before I went, that I could just as easily go to the big grocery store in the same plaza. I decided, shop small, so what if you pay a titch more?
I needed a cheese I'll likely never need or eat again. I asked where it was. The man unhelpfully grunted toward a general direction. Couldn't find it. He kept pointing, I kept not seeing it. Leaving the counter was apparently not a possibility. (We were the only 2 in the store.)
Found it. Only large $30 sizes. Asked if he would cut me a smaller piece. He asked how small. I said in half. He condescending laughed at me and said he "couldn't" (wouldn't) do it. He can't sell cheese that size! Who would buy cheese that size?! Umm...ME!
Irritated, I poked around for a few more minutes. But then I thought, why am I trying to spend money here?
I walked out and into the grocery store and bought exactly what I needed. And another cheese, too.
This fellow is content to be unhelpful, piss off customers, and lose sales. I sure hope it's his store!
Bottom line:
*Little to no service
*Rude when you do get it
*Overpriced
Don't bother. The allure of this type of store is largely the charm. They seem to be fresh out.
