What a cool concept! The Chinese-Mexican fusion is an awesome pair. The decor is amazing. They pulled it all out! There's a slide-show on the wall with authentic Mexican & Chinese people. There's also some kind of crazy light-show with the emperors head floating in one corner of the room.
I wanted to drop 5 stars for this place, but the service was just ok. When i ask a server for a reccomendation, I wanna hear some "oh you gotta try the ..." and see some backward eye-rolling. (ok, i'm a little over the top, but that's what you gotta do for the 5 stars)
Drinks:
My brother had the Margarita Sal de Gusano which was pretty cool. The salt was a layer of foam floating on the top of the drink instead of on the rim.
The Lychee Sour was perfect for me. A play on the Pisco Sour, this one had Lychee puree in it.
Food:
The chips and salsa were deeelicious. The guacamole was good for the tummy!
The Seta (mushroom taco) was okay
When pigs fly (pork bun) was good. I'm used to the pork a little sweeter.
Traditional Sui Mai was my favorite! It's actually sprinkled with shavings of gold! I didn't know gold was edible, but the waiter assured me it was.
Dan Dan Mian was really good. Not to spicy and a good portion.
Jose Andres never disappoints!!!
