| - Incredible. I didn't have a treatment here, but was staying at the Hyatt and if you're a regency club guest you get free access to the facilities. WOW is this place beautiful. I used the men's steam room and sauna, and the outdoor showers. The best part was spending the day lounging next to the mineral pool...it's so tranquil there and peaceful and you're truly away from the world here. The spa staff is great and there's poolside service. I'm not into "spa food" and the menu is incredibly boring, but you can ask for anything they have at the neighboring hotel and they'll get it for you.
Cons: the men's steam room is WAY too hot. I'm a member of a high end athletic club and use a steam room on a regular basis so I'm not a novice. This one is too hot--you should start sweating rapidly after entering but your skin should not feel like it's burning, and mine did. I could only stay in for a couple of minutes. Steaming should be a longer process to allow the pores to open so your body can detox, and allow you to have time to inhale the steam so you can clean out sinuses and chest congestion. And I like a HOT steam room but this one needs turned down a couple notches. The other "con" and this is really a "1% problem" But I AM rating a spa in one of the most expensive zip codes in existence, so here goes: the infused water by the mineral pool and set out throughout the spa needs more fruit added to it or needs to infuse longer, it was lacking in flavor, AND they need bigger glasses by the mineral pool because when it's 100 degrees out it is inconvenient to keep getting up and getting refills every five minutes. Okay I feel like such an ungrateful snob now, but they sent me an email and wanted a review so here it is! I'll go back to my mansion and wait for the death threats now (haha joking I don't have a mansion).
Those two minor, minor things aside, this place is incredible and I cannot wait to return...
