| - My husband and I recently stayed here for one night, on a whim. We were driving through Phoenix and decided to just stop in and see if they had any availability for the evening. Lucky for us, they did!
The location of this casino is great since it's right off the highway and really quick to get in and out of the area. There are tons of restaurants and shopping real close by, as you are in a fairly major hub, as far as cities go.
We normally stay at one of the other major casinos in the area, so this was a great chance to experience something different. On the outside, this establishment doesn't have all the glitz and glamour that our other favorite (In Phoenix, mind you) has, but inside it's really nice. The decor is swanky and elegant, both in the lobby and in the rooms.
The casino floor itself is a decent size for AZ, but small compared to Vegas, and thus, not as many table games and slots. We have been to Vegas a lot, so that's what we usually compare to. It was fairly crowded when we were there, and the poker room looked pretty full with a nice energy. We really like playing the interactive slot machines that are more like games (Gremlins, Wizard of Oz, Family Guy, Ellen, Monopoly, Wheel of Fortune, Willy Wanka, Wonder Woman, etc etc) and there were not many of those slots here. It was mostly the older fashioned slots, which tend to bore our childish minds.
They do have a few restaurants in the casino, and we've now sampled two. We were not too happy with the Asian themed restaurant a while back, so this time we got a few desserts to-go from one of the other venues. The desserts were alright, simple ingredients, but flavorless. Typical of what you get when a restaurant provides it. Nah mean?
The room was very nice and came with a complimentary coffee maker, woot woot!! I am so tired of nice hotels nowadays that have decided to do away with coffee in the rooms just so they can charge you $16 for someone to bring you a carafe which you'd never finish half of anyway! Alas, I was pleased upon entering the room. Bathroom was also pretty and appeared clean.
Over all, I think we'd stay here again if the future if we weren't able to get in at our other preferred spot. One thing that was a downer to us is there is no buffet here. We are obsessed with buffets and that's pretty much all we do in Vegas. Lol, yeah, I don't consume alcohol, so what else is there? Haha!!
I recommend!
