| - Convenient, but at the same time, not convenient.
My bf and I stayed at the SLS hotel, which was one of the stops for the Monorail. This was the convenient part. However, we ended up wanting to go to hotels like the Cosmopolitan, or Caesars Palace, and the closest stop is at Bally's/Paris. The monorail is only located on one side of the strip, so you have to walk quite a ways to get to the other side of the street. I felt like it was at least 0.5 miles, probably more. Argh. I think this was their intent though.
The price was reasonable though. It's $5 a ride (not reasonable), but if you get the 1 or 2-day unlimited passes, it's worth it. My bf and I got the 2-day unlimited passes, which were valued at $22, but we got it for $18 since the Rock N Roll Marathon was taking place that weekend. I'd say the Monorail is worth it if your hotel is one of the stops, but I'd hate to take it if you had to walk to the Monorail, and then some more after getting off your stop!
What could be done to improve the monorail:
1) Have it loop around to the other side of the strip
2) Have it loop to the airport - this would be amazing! And probably put all the cabs out of business, but hey it would be a lot cheaper
They advertise on the Monorail, which I found entertaining. I even found out that the Las Vegas Monorail has its own Instagram page! LOL
