Was a member for years before I moved to Montreal.
Pros:
- great route setting
- gender inclusive washrooms
- friendly staff and community
- they're always working on improving the space, from building new walls to adding new amenities
- seriously the route setting is very good
Cons:
- they often play the music too loud which can make it difficult to hear your climbing partner
- they can be kind of lax about safety
- lots of unrated routes
- terrible lead climbing course. The course is two lessons that are totally inadequate for you to lead confidently and safely.
My regular partner took the lead course about a year after I did and had the same experience. When we complained to the staff, one of the staff (not the one who taught the course) gave us a one-on-two lead climbing tutorial that made all the difference for us leading confidently and safely.
