| - On my way to the Wisconsin Brewing Company, I was in dire need of food and found that Jordandal Cookhouse was pretty much the most-recommended place in Verona.
A small place on the edge of a strip mall, you definitely wouldn't notice it unless you were looking for it. I drove by it twice before I found it. Inside is a simple counter to order at and to the right, a small dining room with tables, chairs, silverware, and water.
Being the macaroni and cheese lover I am, I obviously opted for that covered in pulled pork. While the pasta was cooked well and the cheese sauce was creamy, it was seriously lacking in salt. Seriously as in, I added salt to almost every bite. Constantly. Maybe the pasta-water wasn't salted, maybe they didn't add parmesan to make the sauce salty. I dunno. Just make sure you have your shaker handy. The pulled pork was tasty but a little dry--mix it into the macaroni and cheese so it gets a chance to soak up some of the cheesy deliciousness.
In summary, the food was well-cooked and has the potential to be a five-star dish (at least the item I chose), but it needs a little tweaking to get there.
