| - Once again: long story. If you want the summary, feel free to skip to the end. I won't mind.
....
Over Christmas, a very good friend of mine fell under the weather, and went to the hospital. She turned out to be okay, but needed time to rest and recoupe.
Now, being hugely concerned, but knowing the poor girl just needed space and time to heal, I wanted to do something for her. Since it was so close to the Festive Season, I decided to send her a gift basket. Something to treat her, and also let her know I was there for her. Problem was ... what do I send?
In the past I've sent the fruit baskets, and I've sent cookies. I've sent more flowers than you could find in a scene from Sleeping Beauty and Pocahontas combined ... but they just didn't feel right. Wine? Well ... as great an idea as that usually is, considering it was her health that had been hurt, I decided against it.
That was when I found out about The Gift Designers. In particular: that was when I found Noreen @ The Gift Designers.
The online website was full of choices. I started with a basic package, and then I further tweaked what goods I wanted to send (in this case: I chose a selection of not-too-sweet baked goods to make up for the Christmas baking my friend couldn't finish, some hot cocoa and teas, festive party mix, and crackers with yummy spreads). Then, I chose what I wanted these treats delivered in -- among all the selections, I chose a decorative sleigh.
The next issue: I had no idea where my friend would be by the time it could be delivered. I found this out late ... she had already left that particular hospital. Panicked, I emailed the Gift Designers, and begged them to change the delivery address.
Noreen replied almost immediately, and she deftly switched out the address for that of a common friend. He would see to it that it got delievered to whatever the last destination would be. Easy-peasy.
All this, for only about $10-$20 more than those "other" fruit/gift/wine/flower baskets I had considered in the beginning.
My ill friend received a wonderful gift, full of treats that she and her family could enjoy over Christmas, all the while knowing I was thinking of her and wished her well. Also I knew if I needed help, Noreen was there for me.
**** SUMMARY:
The Gift Designers is a fantastic decision if you need a corporate or personal gift. Items range from the unique (car magazines and beer baskets for the man in your life), to utterly gourmet sweet n' salty snacks perfectly paired with wine you can't easily find on your own.
If you're not sure what basic arrangements suit your needs best, they will happily customize your order and tailor it specifically to what would be best.
Lastly, they will ship anywhere in Canada, AND they will swiftly correct any errors you made during your order, because their service is just that attentive and professional.
Oh and price? Well, gift baskets are generally in the $40-$80 range, and the Gift Designers are no different. You can find an affordable arrangement, or you can go all out and throw an extra item or three in there. I find their prices very reasonable for the quality (but you can't say that in the fancy dollar-sign graphic Yelp asks you to use).
