  • Ever since my Biochemistry days in college, I have loved fermentation. Was that the best use of my Biochem degree? In my opinion, absolutely, in my fathers opinion, not so much...but that is another matter. I have been coming to Wigle Whiskey for years now. Though I love bourbon/whiskey/whisky/scotch from around the globe, I really do like supporting a local place like Wigle, especially since they are making really good spirits. The place is located in the strip district in a pretty unassuming building. They have several tables where you can do tastings at. The staff here has always been really pleasant and quite knowledgable. They not only know the products of Wigle, they know the spirit industry quite well. They offer lots of locally made Rye, Wheat and Corn whiskey and bourbons. They also offer vodka, rum and gin based liquors as well. They have special edition spirits as well, including some at my recent visit that were made from varying beer mash bills. I went with a bottle of "Old Sap" that came from a local brewery's Belgian Style mash. I absolutely loved it and can picture myself sipping it with a cigar. I also purchased a bottle of one of their wheat bourbons that I found to be really smooth and flavorful. My better half has always liked the Landlocked Spice, which is made from honey (mead). So many things to taste here. You really need a visit if you enjoy craft spirits/cocktails. They are making some exceptional, locally grown, spirits. This is always a great stop whether you are a local or a visitor.
