This is a stellar little museum tucked back off Cave Creek Road---watch for the signs! It's small, but has two wings---an Archaeology wing with a great collection of pottery and baskets and artifacts from Pre-historic Indians and local tribles like the Hohokum and the Tohono. The other wing follows the history of Cave Creek from when it was first settled back in the gold rush days thru the TB camps to the Dude Ranches. It's really interesting and the docents know their stuff! Great little gift shop---can't beat the prices for jewelry and Native American crafts. It's a Cave Creek must before or after a great meal at Harold's!
It is closed June thru the end of September and Mondays and Tuesdays during Season, so plan accordingly.
