| - A few months ago, I got a message from the owner Mike. He was concerned about how we had been treated at Oasis, and invited me back to give them another try.
We walked in on a Saturday night, and with his DJ being sick, it was quiet. There was only one other party at the time (9pm). We stood at the front desk for a minute before we were greeted, and were able to seat wherever we liked.
Mike came from the back and introduced himself. He recommended using an "ice tip" with our hookah. While he explained to us what the benefits were, I can't remember them to save my life. We took him up on his recommendation and ordered a "godfather", which we learned was in honor of Mike's IG account.
The waitress didn't introduce herself, but towards the end we asked her what he name was. Leena, I believe. She was quiet, but sweet. She was very attentive to the coals, the hookah, and of course us. I can say the same about Mike.
Since it was slow, Mike did sit with us and talk about his vision for Oasis. He plans on getting a liquor license, and eventually having Mediterranean food. It was refreshing to actually hear an owner who is passionate about his business, and the people that visit it. One of the other owners did approach us, but I do not remember his name.
I recommend getting a hot tea while you are there, I got the peppermint, and it only enhanced the experience- the only thing missing was food, which I was craving by the time we finished our bowl.
Overall, I'm glad Mike messaged me. While I'll admit I was hesitant to go back, Oasis redeemed themselves. If I'm ever in the mood for hookah again, I will re-visit.
Thank you Mike, and Leena for a beautiful evening.
