I stumbled across Egg Works on a Saturday morning while driving around on a "find a place to live" mission.
It was really busy. Since I was alone, the hostess suggested one of the open spots at the counter. I took a seat between a friendly couple and the unfriendly reincarnation of Jimmy Durante.
The menu was overwhelming - which was a good thing since I was pretty hungry. My server was quite nice, and didn't seem at all rushed in spite of how busy it was (in fact, all the employees seemed to be in a really good mood despite the crowds).
I ordered a coffee and the loco moco. Both were very good. I've had loco moco in Hawaii many many times, and this version was every bit as good. The rice and patty were cooked perfectly, and the gravy was flavorful without being overpowering (they also provided extra on the side).
I consider myself something of a breakfast/diner snob, and I really liked Egg Works. I won't be a full-time Vegas resident for a few more weeks, but I look forward to making this place a regular breakfast hangout once I get there.
