I haven't been to pranksters in along time. I use to visit quite frequently when I lived in the area years ago.
My friend and I were hungry, and since we were in the area and reminiscing about all the times we have had at pranksters we decided to stop in.
First off, the decor hasn't change. Still a very large dive bar with plenty of places to sit. They have added on site betting which is kind of cool but we didn't par take.
I'll start with the good, the guy and girl (she came on a little after us being there) working were actually really nice, I didn't catch their names though. The food is still awesome like I remember it would be so def an A+. Mozzarella sticks are soooo good, and still fresh salads.
For the bad.... well when you come into a place you kind of want to be greeted in some sort of a reasonable time. I think we sat for about 15 mins before anyone came out from the back. I actually walked around trying to find someone thinking maybe they were outside or in the back room. It's just frustrating when you are hungry, thirsty and there's no one there. I get that maybe some of the regulars don't care but with other places to choose from in the area I guess it makes you question where I'd go next. His excuse was his was talking to the boss. If you only have one employee on working the front maybe talk to them out of the way of guest but still can see them? Also, he kept pushing more beer about 4 times when I said I live in Mesa and he remarked"I'm trying to upsell." Well, you might be trying to upsell but I'm trying to get home safely.
I can't give this place anything less than a 4 because it's still somewhere I love to go.
