Went last night for happy hour. Great atmosphere in the bar downstairs. Prices are great on both food and drink. But, I didn't know that Rokerij meant HEAT. Holy cow. I started with the ceviche which was ok. Then had the ribs over dirty rice which were so very spicy hot. That should have been enough but then we ordered the adovado sliders. My mouth is still burning and I like hot food but this was waaaaay too hot. I was surprised that the waiter didn't warn us about the heat level...he should have. Another customer at the bar saw my eyes tearing up and he said..that's why I only order the bacon wrapped shrimp. After, I did notice in really fine print at the bottom of the menu something about the heat level of their chillies. I guess I should have paid more attention to the fine print but I still think the bartender/waiter could have said something...maybe - well that dish is very spicy just so you know. Probably won't go back and I don't like saying that because it is a very cool place. Maybe the way to go is to eat food that isn't smoked and lathered in their hot spicy sauce. Gotta go now and take about 5 more TUMS.
