| - Once upon a time, this restaurant was Mercadito, home of "sex mex" -- their words, not mine. And now it's Libre -- another trendy Mexican restaurant with a new menu and new decor.
Appetizers: Dinner kicked-off with a complimentary bowl of tortilla chips with a side of mild salsa, but we also ordered the Bubbling Queso Fundido. A hot skillet of cheese topped with a small scoop of guacamole, some pico de gallo, and what I believe were pickled onions. This was also served with a side of flour tortilla halves, which I could've done without -- it's better to eat this with the tortilla chips, in my opinion.
Entree - Street tacos (Al pastor pork): Three individual tacos wrapped in foil and served with a side of chips, all in a bucket -- yeah, a bucket. I appreciate the creative twist in presentation, but a plate would've been practical. The bucket took up too much space on the table, and it's just odd eating from a bucket. Aside from that, the tacos didn't disappoint.
Overall - Food and service were fine. If I were to return, it would be for happy hour than dinner.
