| - TL;DR Skip the restaurant and head to your nearest grocer's freezer and pickup a pot pie, or any of Marie's meals. I guarantee you it tastes the same as it would if you at ate the restaurant, without the 75% markup.
7 of us had lunch here on Saturday 6/18. We were seated in a private room right next to the salad bar. Claudia was our server and she was very nice. While we studied the menus, she brought us the driest cornbread I've ever eaten. The honey butter that accompanied it was good, but man you need way more than that 1oz cup of butter to make it edible. Although it's complimentary, skip it.
For lunch, I chose the chicken pot pie because it's like their signature item. My other half had the chicken and broccoli fettuccine alfredo. The rest of our party had grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches. Those sandwiches were the best damn thing on the menu. They are made with this amazing parmesan sourdough bread. I wish I would have order that instead of a $16 pot pie. Here's the thing, the pie tastes the same as the kind you can get from the grocery store. So why spend $16 when you can spend $5. Granted this pot pie was larger, but it was essentially the same thing. The fettuccine was also like the kind from the freezer. It even came with the watered down sauce! It was $15 for his meal. I mean seriously, they are really proud of their shit. For 2 lunches we were already well above $30.
We couldn't leave without a piece of pie. That is one thing that Marie's does well is make pies. I had a piece of the cream cheese pie and it was soo damn good. It's like cheesecake, but not heavy and sooo creamy. They also have their standard cream pies like chocolate and coconut, and fruit pies as well. Of course you can buy whole pies to-go, but I usually wait for their semi-annual pie sale that they have throughout the year. Luckily we were able to find a coupon online for $10 off so we only spent around $35 total with tax and tip. But the only time I will ever set foot in a Marie's again is for pie.
