  • 3.5 Wolfies Spago is where Wolfgang puck, and his second wife Barbara Lazaroff, started their amazing food Dynasty. He now has some 20-30 restaurants And while it is but a mere shadow of it's past grandeur Spago still serves very good food. Spago is a great place for a group of diners that have diverse tastes (vegetarians, kids,....picky eaters). We ordered the following: Margherita: fresh mozzarella, san marzano tomatoes, basil Roasted Mushroom: sweet garlic, provolone cheese, cipollini onions, taleggio. Fantastic crust, exceptional toppings, and perfect bake. Pizzas are still absolutely stunning....GET IT! Caesar Salad: parmesan, ciabatta croutons, white anchovy. It is a small and disappointing salad...especially for the price. PASS Maryland Crab Cakes: basil aioli, tomato relish, local petite greens. Very small portion for the price but the flavor is fantastic. If you got the coin GO FOR IT!! Rigatoni: housemade bolognese sauce, ricotta, parsley. In a word Stunning. The pasta is perfectly aldente, the sauce incredibly flavorful, the ricotta is unlike anything I have had before! GET THIS! My Niece had the Angel hair with butter and the pasta was fantastic...basic but all ingredients were wonderful! We also had several desserts: Valrhona Chocolate SoufflĂ© chocolate sauce, caramel ice cream. Light and fluffy Souffle with great accompanying condiments. GET IT! Seasonal Cookie Plate. In a word Underwhelming....PASS Banana Caramel chocolate lava cake, banana coulis, salted caramel ice cream: Beautiful to look at and great to eat....small portion but every bite was packed with explosions of flavor. GET IT Service is pleasant but scattered (somewhat unprofessional) : We had to ask for utensils and plates several times. The timing of service was awkward and plates were stacked on the table..not very appealing. Great wine list. I must point out that Spago will be moving to the Belagio in less than a year. Moving from a 20,000 square foot space to a smaller 12,000 foot place. If you check in with yelp you receive a 20% discount on your tab....thank you YELP!!!
