OK, after reading the reviews here I almost chose not to bring my car in to this Canadian Tire location, but it was the most convenient one to my work so I took a chance. I brought in my newly purchased (from the states) Prius Plug-In, for what was initially just the RIV import inspection, and subsequently Alberta's Out-of-Province inspection. I didn't know what to expect as the car is not widely available in Canada yet, and the first Prius Plug-in that the location had seen. However, the auto service provided by this Canadian Tire location (Glenn Boyd and his team) FAR exceeded my expectations. They were able to modify my DRL/daytime running lights to comply with Canadian standards with ease (at less cost than what the local Toyota's dealership was quoting me, and the Toyota dealership didn't even seem to know if/how they could modify the DRLs. Glenn and his team had no problems getting into the new Prius' system and changing the 'DRL off' setting to 'auto/always-on'. They also directed me to the nearby auto registry to get the out-of-province form and they were able to complete both the RIV and out-of-province inspections in less than 2 hours (it probably helped that I had brought the car in close to opening time). The folks there were a joy to chat with and seemed genuinely interested in giving quality honest care to their customers. To be honest, it felt like I was in a mom+pop shop in my local town - someone you can trust.
Anyways, hopefully my experience isn't just an isolated experience, but I had such a great experience here that I had to write about it. Glenn and his team at Canadian Tire Dalton Dr. exceeded my expectations!
