| - Absinthe and fried chicken. I vote yes. More like, oh hell yes!
I came in on business, Pittsburgh is a really nice town. I'm a native Chicagoan, where I expect my cities cramped and unfriendly and dirty. I was shocked by how much breathing room I had here.
Meat & Potatoes has a spread of crazy stuff on the menu, and I go in on daring dining. They have a slate of absinthe, including original recipe European imports, on the menu. Score! They do it up as a cocktail in the traditional way. Less green and halluciniatory than I had imagined, but what a fun experience :D
The actual meat of Meat and Potatoes was spot on. I had "Pickled Chicken" which is probably the worst name for a fried chicken sandwich I've ever heard. It is, however, pickled, so a logical name, but it really is a classic, mildly spicy fried chicken sandwhich. The breading is crispy, the chicken tender, Top notch experience all around.
