  • The old Phoenix has been reborn into a creatively decorated, grown folks environment! The downstairs is an intimate bar and lounge area with a place for a live band. The mixologists (bartender is so passé here) create the most amazing craft cocktails with style and flair. My friend ordered and Old Fashioned that was finished with smoke to enhance the flavor of the whiskey. Tres chic! I first opted for a strawberry basil margarita. It was a little tart, but refreshing. It was perfect for a warm November night. We ventured to the rooftop and enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather under the stars. This area has limited seating, but the ambiance is relaxed and laid back. Around 10ish pm, a dj arrived...it took him a while to get set up, but when he did, the party was rockin! My final drink of the night was the apple whiskey mule. This drink was another work of magic! The liquid ingredients are added to a copper mug and a scorched lime is placed on top. The mixologist then set the lime on fire and adds a few shakes of cinnamon, which sparks for an added special effect. The fire is extinguished when the mixologist plunges a cinnamon stick into the drink. This was very sweet but smooth. I didn't realize it's potency until 15 minutes later. Keep in mind that these are craft cocktails...not gin & juice, so you'll spend more money on your drinks. The blackboard on the patio suggested there were drink specials...Tuesdays $8 craft cocktails...Thursdays 1/2 off martinis. I'll definitely return, regardless of the day!
