I decided to visit Andy's today (8/1/17) after discovering that it had opened recently. Some of my friends recommended it. I went in the drive-thru. It was very clean and the design was cool. The staff was very friendly. The custard came out within 2 minutes. I tried the small BootDaddy Concrete. It was a very tasty combination of caramel, hot fudge, and Oreo pieces. However, it was not worth $5.44 for a small size. There weren't enough Oreo pieces in the custard. It also melted very fast... within 10 min. So it was like eating more of a half-melted ice cream. It wasn't that cold after awhile. I've tasted ice cream like this before. The flavors weren't that unique. I don't really understand what the hype is all about.
I will have to go back to try their different ice creams. Maybe a different flavor will change my mind. I'd rate my first experience a 3/5 but I'm sure that Andy's has more potential and that some of their other treats taste better. However, if I'm in the area, I'd much rather go to the Dairy Queen across the street. It's cheaper, has better flavors, and their blizzards stay solid longer.
