| - This place reminds me of Gyu-kaku with the variety of appetizers they offer along with the different types of meat and seafood that you can order; even the layout of the menu is strikingly similar to Gyu. In terms of food, however, Gangnam is more Korean influenced, and the meat quality here is far better than Gyu's. They also provide banchan here, and the kimchi was really good! Kimchi Gangnam style!!
My buddy and I ordered pork off the lunch set menu (looked like pork shoulder), and it was really chewy for me at first (even though it was fully cooked). But I started to enjoy the texture the more and more I ate it. It was better than the actual pork belly in my opinion. The beef toro was pretty good, and its cuts were thick.
We also tried the chicken wings, steamed dumplings, and the spicy tuna kimbap. The chicken wings were tasty and flavorful. There was too much going on in the spicy tuna kimbap, and it was too sauce heavy. The steamed dumplings were just not very good, and even my buddy said that they tasted like packaged ones.
Not sure if this place is worthy of their 4.5 star rating. I wasn't impressed by anything, but maybe I'll give it another shot if I'm in the area.
