  • An Ode to Valero 1653: Why I Come They have gas, so I come. It is located at a major intersection near my house and is very convenient, so I come. The pump has excellent customer service skills (e.g., quick to respond, always offers a receipt) and I've never actually seen an employee, so I come. It is clean, for a gas station, so I come. They have a convenience store; I've never used it, but I might one day and there might be actual employees inside, so I come. I never have to wait because it would appear not to be a very popular gas station, so I come. I've never had a bad experience, so I come. I have no idea what their reputation as a company is, and other companies have bad reputations for reasons I can't recall, so I come. Oh, Valero 1653, what would I do without you.
