| - Hello Review # 900! JSG is a great spot to take in a Sunday afternoon Steeler's game. This place is typical Western PA, old and rickety inside, tons of character, great bar area and friendly service. We were greeted right away and taken in one of the booths that sit up behind the bar with a perfect view of one of the TV's.
BJ enjoyed some Great Lakes X-mas beer. For his meal he got their version of a Cobb salad. Grilled chicken, peppered bacon, hard boiled egg, avocado, tomato, candied onion, crumbled Gorgonzola and a crispy pasta sheet. Very good sized portion and everything was very fresh. For me, I needed to get a couple snacks. I got the buttermilk battered onion rings. Delicious! Be sure to eat them while they are still hot. And I also got the pipe bombs. They are sirloin steak, bell peppers, jalapeƱos, pepper jack cheese in a crispy won-ton wrapper and served with Guinness steak sauce. I thought they were decent, but did get any heat from the jalapeƱos peppers, which was kinda disappointing.
The game was kinda long, so we had to have dessert. We shared an apple tart ala mode. It was fantastic! Really a fun place to visit, good food, great service.
