| - Bier's location has been a lot of things. "True" (or was it "Tru") was the first place I went to. Great, friendly servers, great bar. Cassis had great, interesting food combination, and established it as a fantastic brunch place. Then Benjamin's added great burgers (I even survived their early burger-on-white-bread days) that kept the unique-flavor mojo of Cassis.
Bier's has largely (and wisely) kept much (all?) of Benjamin's burger and sides menu, kept the great bar and engaging staff, and added the interest of self-brewed and (mostly) local beers. Bonus that brewer-owner Jake is a good guy, a local, friendly, and hangs around and cares about the place and his customers' experiences.
A few neighbors swear by the jalapeño cream cheese burger. My go-to is Swiss cheese and mushroom (excellently sautéed) burger and broccoli salad. I've taken a couple vegetarian friends there who have loved the veg-burger renditions.
The home brews I've had have been top notch. I don't have the fancy "over-tones-of-hazelnut-and-espresso" lingo because I'm no beer connoisseur, but the stouts have been stout and the ambers, well, amber. (Don't ask me about anything lighter.) All good to excellent.
Nice, local, good place with moments of greatness.
