  • This evening was my 5th time dining at Baku. The last few occasions I have dined here the food and service have been impeccable. Easily Baku has been in my top 5 choices for dinner in Charlotte, especially on special occasions. Tonight was quite a diversion from the norm. Focally there were multiple items not available, Shishito Peppers, several other appetizers, and a few entrees. In the past we had been captivated by the Tomahawk steak and Wagyu beef. Well understanding that the other entrees were "tapas" portions, for the money it was a bit meager. One of the six in our party ordered diver scallops, which sets the expectation they should be large. Unfortunately they missed expectations and were small. With all of the absent dishes the flavor of the dishes and service are the only reason I am giving 3 stars. I heard the menu is being updated, but still not a good enough reason for having so many missing dishes. Lastly if it weren't for the aforementioned positives I would have rated tonight a 1 or a 2. I hope these issues are temporary and I look forward to possibly giving it another try soon.
