How do I not have a review for the tuck shop is beyond me. Every single time I am here 2 things stand out -
a) The service, really is what Barney would call .. legend... wait for it.. -ary !
b) The food is delicious !
Given that it is located in the Coronado historic district there isn't a patio (zoning regs), and the restaurant itself is hidden unless you knew it was there. There is ample parking available in the empty lot across the street which is always a plus.
It does get busy so I would recommend making reservations ahead of time. They are very accommodating if you are trying to organize something or the other and will try to make it work.
They do go out of their way to make you feel welcome and heck even if you weren't a regular they still make you feel like one. The staff is polite and courteous to a fault, and never have i ever felt rushed at the place. They even ask you in what order you would like your food, so its not like there is a lot on your plate all of a sudden.
There is a plethora of vegetarian options and they will try to make adjustments if they are feasible. I always thought that was very nice of them to do so. The food is consistently good and while the management may have changed over time the food tastes consistently good.
All things said, it is on the pricier side, and so there is that but honestly the food, the atmosphere and the service makes it worth it.
