Sorrento's moved from a cramped, old 1970s hole in the wall to a new spot and it looks great. However, they seem to have left their best meals in their old kitchen. The meal was mostly a misfire from start to finish. Just a few highlights:
-Servers seemed thoroughly ill-prepared, albeit friendly. Our server kept referring to my wife as "The Miss." (???) "Is The Miss finished?"
-Salad dressings were of the Sysco variety, or something comparable.
-Bread is blah.
-All pastas were completely overcooked. Rigatoni fell apart when you tried to pick it up with the fork. This is "authentic Italian?!"
-Pasta dishes were very watery at the bottoms of the bowls.
-The only drink we ordered came about 4/5 through the meal, after asking for it more than 4 times.
-Waitress took my water away while we were still sitting at the table. When I told her I was still drinking, she put it back down after putting her fingers in the glass.
I hope they improve, but we aren't rushing to go back.
