Despite the horrible reviews, we decided to give it a try anyway. Bad decision.
Yelp is truly solid on reliability. Really hoping to experience some of the famous chef Masa's Michelin star rated culinary artistry - but that doesn't exist here. We thought dinner hour would be busy but arrived to a nearly empty restaurant. High ceilings and wide open dining space made the space seem even more lonely.
First look at the menu took our breathes away. For the price we expected some really awesome sushi, or at the very least good portions. Neither of those things were true. We ordered a roll which was mediocre, and assorted pieces of sushi. It didn't seem particularly fresh, nor were they very tasty. The only thing we were really happy with was the duck foie gras fried rice. It could have really just been fried rice though and for the price we really didn't notice the foie gras and it wasn't all that impressive for the price.
What a horrible misconception.
